Is WordPress Right For Me???

  Hello All,

  I was looking though a couple dozen different blogging software and am unable to determine just which one is capable of performing the tasks I require.

  I would like to set up a site thats pretty simple, I would like it have small posts, a single image thats restricted to 100×100 pixels, a link to a URL, and a small description. Much like Dumpalink.com or CelebrityHoneys.com. Only I would like readers to be able to register and submit links with descriptions, an image, and a URL and allow me to approve of it.

  So far I have not been able to determine whether or not WordPress would be able to set up such a site. If anyone knows whether it is capable or not of doing so, or may be able to suggest software that can, I would greatly appreciate it.

  Why not just host your own blog.

  You’re thinking more of a Content management System over a blog. That’s why you haven’t found anything that you like in the blogging world.

  I would look at phpNuke or Back-end as both have submitter portions. phpNuke has a better one for links though and I would lean towards that. Not sure if it could take an image though.

  blogshoppe: I don’t think you want a blog. It sounds like you want something like http://ma.gnolia.com/, but for groups.

  You could create a http://fanpop.com community.
