Is WordPress selling me a host site along with the program?

    I already have a host – dotster.com. WordPress was on that host for me to download and get started. Was that just a 14 day offer? When I went on to WordPress.com to upgrade, it indicated that a new host would be included in the $99. I am confused.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    The 14 day trial offer is an offer that applies only to free blogs provided and being free hosted by WordPress.COM. It does not apply to any other sites.

    What do you see here?
    Dashboard → Store → My Upgrades
    Dashboard → Store → Billing History

    Are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchased the 14 day trial upgrade? That’s required to cancel the trial.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that registered the blog and purchased the trial upgrade, you ought to be able cancel trial upgrades under Store → My Upgrades in your dashboard at any time and also disable auto-renew.

    Hi marilynneca,

    Since your WordPress.com site (https://marilynneca.wordpress.com/) was created at the same time you posted this question, I suspect you have a self-hosted WordPress site at dotster.com. This means the Premium Plan free trial you see on WordPress.com isn’t related to your site at all.

    If you send me the URL of your site, or a link to the page you used to sign up for your account, I can verify for you and help you figure out how to best access your existing site.
