Is wordpress slow only for me?
-
Your connection is timing out before it even reaches our servers. This definitely looks like an ISP issue.
-
staff-blorbo my connection is timing out between London and US, it’s not my ISP issue, call EdgeCast.

My WP has gone all wacky this pm. It spins and spins and doesn’t want to post. I noticed that all of a sudden it is publishing my posts with the date of Nov. 14. I went in to make sure my settings show the correct time, but I still can’t post even after correcting it. Any ideas? Cleared cache and cookies, no better.

@samrhett2
Have you tried any troubleshooting yet? See here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-wordpress-slow-only-for-me?replies=23#post-743465 -
chestnykh, I got in touch with our systems engineers, and it looks like your first traceroute shows an issue on the very last hop from Edgecast, which we can report.
We’ll see if that takes care of it.

It finally published, but with the correct time and date now, so I have no idea why everything was fine all day and then all of a sudden it started publishing things for the 14th. I didn’t change anything. Oh well, people will just think I time traveled because my latest posts are now before my older ones.

@samrhett2
If you have marked any posts as sticky posts then you can edit the posts and remove that designation and restore correct reverse chronological ordering . -

@asileedotcom
That’s great news. Thank you for sharing it with us and happy blogging. :) -

I’m in Brunei and WordPress is excruciatingly slow. My friends have reported the same so I know I’m not alone. Am running Firefox 7.0.1, Windows 7, and is normally pretty fast but has been very slow with occasional time-outs for a few days now. Editing a post sometimes just freezes. In contrast, Facebook run fasts as do general browsing of other sites.

i had problems over the weekend and notice today i have no referrers which is very odd. first time i can recall that ever happening.

staff-blorbo Thanks!
@barry
Thanks for looking into it.Current situation: I can ping s0.wp.com, and it opens from the browser. Traceroute, however, still stuck at the last hop (195.66.224.62). OS X’s traceroute uses UDP packets by default. When I try ICMP, it works well:
$ traceroute -I s0.wp.com
traceroute to gs1.wac.edgecastcdn.net (93.184.220.20), 64 hops max, 72 byte packets
...
5 212-200-236-189.static.isp.telekom.rs (212.200.236.189) 15.934 ms 18.097 ms 15.331 ms
6 212.200.6.238 (212.200.6.238) 66.819 ms 61.288 ms 51.821 ms
7 212.200.5.105 (212.200.5.105) 37.530 ms 32.749 ms 29.709 ms
8 212.200.5.33 (212.200.5.33) 51.389 ms 50.550 ms 51.465 ms
9 195.66.224.62 (195.66.224.62) 72.547 ms 51.120 ms 58.081 ms
10 93.184.220.20 (93.184.220.20) 51.185 ms 51.941 ms 51.178 ms
Not sure what’s the deal with UDP packets, as previously it worked, so maybe it’s not related after all.
Connection issues with 93.184.220.20 happen only occasionally. I will post into this thread if we’ll notice them again. If you’re interested (and if some DoS protection don’t block me), I can setup a script to periodically (e.g. every 5 minutes) try to get something from this server by HTTP, run it for a day or so, and tell you how often it fails.

Seen this again today. Quickly jumped to various tests:
curl --head s0.wp.comtimed outed.
traceroute s0.wp.com(UDP) stuck at last node, as mentioned.
traceroute -I s0.wp.com(ICMP) succeeded.A few seconds later it came back (except for UDP traceroute).

#chestnykh
It looks like the UDP timeout problem is likely unrelated. can you provide the HTTP response headers from a successful request? Thanks – the Edgecast folks are monitoring this thread and awaiting your reply.

$ curl --head s0.wp.com

hey guys!
i set up my blog last week and it was working perfectly fine up until two days ago. not just my blog, wordpress.com in general went turtle speed.
it just works (sometimes) after i clear my cookies and restart firefox, but even then i have to log in again and once i do that and try to post anything or just go to my dashboard it gets cranky again, so its not realy working.
i am running firefox 7 on windows 7 with a pretty good connection speed.
im in portugal, i notice that maybe this is a region problem (london/uk servers?)..thanks :)
