Is WordPress.com going to reinstate the option to switch to the classic editor?

Hello, there. I’ve browsed the forums and see that I’m not the only person with this problem. I teach a WordPress.com class at a local community education center. We’re learning the basics of post and page editing, but the editor keeps switching to the new view. This is very confusing for my students – who are still learning how to use the software – and for me, who has to teach them.

I don’t like the new editor, for all the reasons listed in the forums. My students are beginners and don’t understand the technical work-arounds you’ve listed. It’s possible that I couldn’t use them anyway, since I’m using old computers on a closely protected shared network.

Can you give me an update on what wordpress.com is – or isn’t – going to do about the editor switch? If there’s no way to get to the classic editor, then I’m not sure I’m going to be using this platform to teach the class.

    Best, Margy Rydzynski

    Hi Margy,

You can go to the classic dashboard here:

    http://blogcollectables.wordpress.com/wp-admin/

Your students can access their classic dashboards by replacing your blog name in the link (blogcollectables), with their own.

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!
