Is wordpress.COM secure against dedicated hacks?

We are a Jewish non-profit organization and we have a site on the ModX system. For the past year or so our site has been getting hacked consistently; We clean it up, re-install, it gets hacked again.
After some searching online it has become apparent that our website has been deliberately targeted, together with a lot of other Israeli/Jewish websites specifically because we are Jewish/Isareli.
My question is this: I was considering meanwhile pointing our name servers to a wordpress.com site. Is WordPress.com more secure against these type of attacks?

Hi there,
WordPress.com sites are not subject to the vulnerabilities that are common to self-hosted WordPress websites, as aside from the Business Plan you cannot install plugins and themes here. Hacks occur when those are poorly coded or not kept up to date.
The only way someone could hack your WordPress.com site, is if they gained access to your username account and/or your connected email account. As long as you use a secure, unique password, enable two-factor authentication, and don’t leave your browser logged in on a shared computer, the chances of you being hacked here are slim to none – WordPress.com has excellent security, and in my five years as a user and two years as an employee I’ve never yet heard of a site being hacked via a code exploit.
You can find more information on security on WordPress.com here:

Thanks for the reply.
Our current site is not a WordPress site, it's ModX. But i guess the answer stays the same. -
You asked whether WordPress.com is secure against hacks. That’s the question I answered, with reference to the self-hosted WordPress software for comparison.
I have no experience or knowledge regarding ModX to advise you regarding that software.
