“ismyblogworking.com”

TheSacredPath posted a link to use to check a blog’s status. I decided to check mine. I get these error messages:

Your blog seems slow. It took 1.17 seconds to generate the page.
Your blog doesn’t support client caching (no 304 response to If-modified-since).
Your feed doesn’t support caching (no 304 response to If-modified-since).

I read the “if-modified-since’ — well, not in its entirety. I am not computer techie enough to understand what I was reading. Does anyone know what I can do to correct these errors?

Thanks in advance for any ideas what I need to do.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Neither of those things are errors. You needn’t worry about the items that are shown with a yellow star – they are just advisory info.

http://ismyblogworking.com/fruitoftheword.com – it’s showing much faster now, as you can see. The speed can vary considerably from one view to the next, for a number of reasons.

You can’t. That’s all up to the WP.com staffers and their setup. All Wp.com blogs seem to give exactly the same info when it comes to those two lines.

Hi, for some reason, my blog seems to be having errors and I have no idea why. I haven’t changed anything. I was indexed by Bing and as of yesterday, it’s showing that I am not. I checked again today on “is my blog working” and it’s showing that I am not. I don’t now what the “304” caching error is. Is this something I should submit to support for help?

oops “now” should be “know” (typo)

  • @tishrei, as I said above, the things with the yellow stars aren’t errors – you can ignore them.

You’ll have to ask Bing why you’re not indexed. Only they know.
