isp addresses of blog visitors?
-
I was wondering if there is a way to see the ISP addresses of visitors to my blog and/or block a certain ISP.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Thanks.
There isn’t any add-on I’m aware of that will give you full IP addresses of blog viewers. Of course you can get the IPs of anyone who comments, but not anyone who reads; I believe sitemeter and statcounter will give you partial IPs, though. You can ban a particular IP from commenting, but not reading. And with IP bans, you’re probably banning a large selection of innocent people as well, since IPs are rarely completely isolated to one computer anymore.

Okay, I’ll check out those sites. Thanks! How do I block an IP from commenting? The person I want to block has never commented, but I’d rather not have the option open…

You go to Settings->Discussion and there’s a place in there where you can blacklist an IP. Be aware, you’ll be blocking a lot of other people at the same time.

Wouldn’t the other ppl I’m blocking be near the same location, though? The person I want to block is in Japan, and as far as I know, she’s the only one reading in Japan…

If you have their email address or username, better to ban or send to moderate instead. That way it is specific to a person.
