ISP Algorithmic Compression causing issues?
-
I’m forced to use cellular internet from Alltel (who was acquired by Verizon) but I’m lucky to still have an unlimited plan.
My only issue at the moment is that there seems to be some sort of compression happening at ISP level that only allow less than half of scripts on page load to run forcing me to do a force refresh (CTRL + F5). There’s no error or anything of the sort except that I can’t click/drag widgets on the widget page or see any of the advanced editing features on the post page without force refreshing. And again for every page I visit. I can, however, use IE – except for the fact that it’s slow and unreliable imho.
The same thing happens on the WorldofWarcraft site, except it actually gives me an error:
This page contains the following errors:
error on line 61 at column 39: Comment not terminated
<!--
$(function(){Page.initialize();Input.initialize()
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.^ The rest of the page is blank. CTRL + F5 loads the page.
I only mentioned this as I can’t really give any reliable information except I’m forced to force refresh a whole lot more than I wish to. :[
Is there anyone that can give me any information? I’m not necessarily sure what it is. Verizon tells me that there’s nothing interfering with my connection.

It’s not a blog specific issue, as I’m able to connect to my home webserver without any issues, using Chrome/Firefox/Opera/Safari. IE seems to be the only one that will connect outside of the network w/o this particular issue (relatively speaking).

Yes, but are you talking about a blog that is actually hosted here at wordpress.com or on your own web hosting? The site linked to your username was set up Aug 16 and nothing has been done to it.
