Issue mapping a domain name to my blog
-
I submitted an inquiry 24+ hours ago and have not received a reply. Is this normal? WordPress responded to it and stated that it’s looking into the issue, but that was yesterday afternoon… A copy of my inquiry follows below:
I added a custom domain that I own (TuneDome.com) to point to my Blog (TuneDome.WordPress.com). The Nameserver records were updated just fine with goDaddy. Then I got a WordPress confirmation page that told me to “wait for 60 seconds and then follow the instructions below.” Then “instructions” below read as follows: “The main part of your blog URL is its domain. An example of a domain is “wordpress.com”. You can have your blog at any domain you control, such as example.com, or set up a domain to automatically redirect visitors to your blog URL. Read more about it or enter a domain name below and follow the prompts.” Clearly, these are not the instructions — because this same text appeared on this page BEFORE I added my custom domain…. which is my problem: What else do I need to do to complete the process? Currently, if attempt to go to URL TuneDome.com, I end up where I am supposed to (on my blog), but the address line reads “http://tunedome.wordpress.com/”. However, I can achieve this effect by simply FORWARDING my domain from goDaddy (which doesn’t cost me anything), whereas you guys charged me $12. From this I am concluding that I did not finish the domain mapping process with WordPress. Or did I? If yes and this is how it’s supposed to work, then please cancel this service and refund my money, and I will simply forward this domain to my WordPress blog. But if not, please explain to me how finish the mapping process. Either way, thanks in advance ~

I’ve responded to your e-mail ticket and tunedome.com is working perfectly fine now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
