Issue with adding users

  Hello, I’ll try to describe this issue completely, but its a little strange.

  I’ve been tasked with filling in the WordPress blog for my company (sorry, it’s not visible to the public, hopefully my description will suffice) and the only issue that has so far been insurmountable is the adding of subscribers to the blog. On the admin page I go to the users tab and select “Add New”. I create a username for them (firstnamelastname) and I enter their work email addresses (provided through Zimbra), select their role as a subscriber, and select “Add User”. When the user receives the email inviting them to the blog, they click on the second link (which is supposed to activate their account and give them a randomly generated password), and they are taken directly to the login page without being given either a username or a password; thus they are completely unable to login and view the site.

  Now here is the strange part. I’ve tested it out on different computers with different email addressed and different browsers and different coworkers. On coworker even forwarded the link to his gmail account and tried to access it from there. Nothing worked. However, I found that if I set up a gmail account specifically for the purpose of then trying to add someone to the blog as a subscriber, it works! Additionally, I added a coworker from my office and later logged in to my admin account at his apartment. Before I logged in on his computer he couldn’t make the link work, but afterwords he went back to the link and tried to login once more and succeeded.

  I cannot understand what the issue is here, but without individual logins my site is more or less useless. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
