Issue with Categories: 'NAME ALREADY EXIST'. Help!
-
Hello,
So I am using the theme ‘Twenty Sixteen’. I am a new blogger and I am just setting up my page. Currently, I have two categories: Uncategorized and Blog. I created another category, ‘Travel’, and I accidentally deleted that one. Now, the problem is I tried to add a new category with the same name ‘Travel’ but it shows ‘Name already exist’.
I checked the category section again and I also checked Primary Menu (in Theme customization) to see if the category is there by any chance; there is no ‘Travel’ category in none of the sections. Why isn’t the theme letting me add a category with a name/word I used before (which i deleted)? Is there any rule that I cannot re-use the same name/word I used before?
Sorry, I am new here and I hope my explanation makes some sense. I will highly appreciate any help. Thanks! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Okay, I solved the issue. I cleared my browsing data on Google Chrome and made sure I selected ‘cached images and files’ & ‘cookies and other sites data’. After clearing my browsing data, I exited out of the browser and went back in to my wordpress site. I added the ‘travel’ category and it worked! The message ‘Name already exist’ didn’t show up! To be sure again, I deleted the category and added a new category with the same name and surprisingly no error message showed up!
I think it something has to do with the browser’s cookies/caches. All I had to do was clear my browsing history/data on Chrome. -
