Issue with favicon in google

Created my website in wordpress. Why does Google Search display a different favicon, and how can I ensure it shows the correct one?

When I search for my website (amngroup.se) on Google, the search results display a strange or incorrect favicon (a bird) instead of my own. However, when I visit the website directly, the correct favicon is shown. I also tested using Google’s favicon service:

    https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=amngroup.se&sz=64

    This correctly shows my favicon.

Why does Google Search display a different favicon, and how can I ensure it shows the correct one?

This discrepancy occurs because Google’s search engine uses a separate, much slower “favicon crawler” that is different from the live checker service you used. While your site is correctly serving your logo, Google has likely cached an old or default icon—possibly a bird icon from a previous theme or a default social media placeholder—and simply hasn’t revisited your site to update its index. Since your favicon correctly appears in the “s2” checker, you have already confirmed the technical setup is right; now you just need to force Google to notice the change. To speed this up, log into your Google Search Console, enter your homepage URL in the “URL Inspection” bar at the top, and click “Request Indexing” once the report loads. This puts your site in a priority queue for a re-scan, though it can still take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for the visual change to appear in search results. Additionally, ensure your favicon image is a square that is at least 48×48 pixels (Google’s minimum for search results), and try to avoid changing the favicon filename, as stability helps the crawler identify it as your permanent brand icon.
