Issue with last article in homepage

    Hi everyone.

    I recently started a new blog, reachable at this address:
    https://teenwackies.wordpress.com/

    The problem is that the first article on the top of the homepage is not the last being published, which instead is this:
    https://teenwackies.wordpress.com/2022/07/03/google-pixel-6-pro-the-evolution-of-the-species/

    In fact, the first article on homepage is never the last, but the second-last published. Why this? And how can I fix it?

    Hi there,

    I noticed that you have edited your index template to use the Blog Posts block instead of the Query Loop block, which is what the template uses by default to add the blog feed.

    In my tests, it appears the theme you are using (Stewart) was not intended to use this block at the template level, and there is a bug where the feed of this block is offset by 1, so it never shows the most recent post.

    I have reported this issue to our theme developers to investigate but I am not able to provide a timeline on when we would fix this. I am happy to update you when we know more.

    In the meantime, if you switch to the Query Loop block on your index template (link here to edit) you will see a full feed of blog posts including your most recent.

    This is difficult to explain in words, so I recorded a quick video to show you how to add the Query Loop block and remove the Blog posts block. Notice that the Query Loop Block does show the most recent article even in the template editor view.

    First of all, I want to thank you for your precious help. I tried the Query Loop Block and it works, my last article appears in homepage. However, I preferred to go back to the Blog Posts block because it fits better to me, and I bypassed the bug issue by publishing only a “Coming soon” of my next article, so that in home it shows my last full article.
