issue with my page not formatting properly

Dear Readers. I have a problem that I think may require technical assistance as I am yet to determine if the problem I have is to do with WordPress or my computer.

My WordPress address is http://andylilliman.wordpress.com and by normal standards I would consider the website to look as such:

(Just to clarify, I am posting on behalf of user “andylilliman”).

However, when I go to the same site from another computer with the same operating system, the page looks like this:

The problem this causes is firstly concern that other people may have the same problem, and secondly it makes it difficult for me to manage my page.

I have noticed that on the computer where the page is not working properly, Internet Explorer is stating that there was an error on the page to do with what looks like a javascript error:

However, what I do not understand is why it is working on one computer and not working on the other. It is almost as if it is not picking up the theme or not seeing the CSS file, or the object that defines the formatting of the page. I truly believe that this is because the javascript is failing.

In addition, I have tried other websites and performed direct comparison between the two computers and the problem only seems to be with the wordpress site. Both systems are Windows 2003 server – I use via terminal services (Citrix). Both servers have IE8 and have the same version of Java.

Your support is much appreciated. I will continue to investigate the problem at my end.

    Many Thanks

Hi. My best guess is that the other computer,or its network is probably blocking either external CSS stylesheets or the wp.com domain entirely (where the CSS stylesheet is located). If it’s a work computer, check with their systems administrator.

Just to add on what I said earlier, these are the domain names that may have been blocked by the computer or network in question. If you cannot open them at all from the computer in question, you found part of the explanation…
    http://s0.wp.com
    http://s1.wp.com
    http://s2.wp.com

You can also try the usual: delete cookies and empty cache memory.

airodyssey, that is brilliant. My problem is now fixed. I unblocked the url’s you provided and after testing I can see that the webpage on the suspect server computer now displays as normal.

    Hero.
