Issue with Pagination on Blog Page in Nook Theme

    Hi WordPress Community!

I’m experiencing an issue with the pagination on my blog page, and I’d appreciate your help in resolving it.

Issue: When I navigate to my blog page, I can see my posts in chronological order. However, when I click the ‘Next Page’ button, I’m taken to a blank page with no posts displayed. Interestingly, when I manually enter the URL for the second page (e.g., ?query-9-page=2), I can see the posts for that page just fine.

This issue seems specific to the pagination buttons (both ‘Next Page’ and ‘Previous Page’).

What I’ve Tried to Fix the Issue:

    Customization and Settings:

I’ve verified that the ‘Posts Page’ is correctly set in Settings > Reading.
I adjusted the number of posts per page and tried changing it to a lower number (e.g., 2-3 posts) to see if that made any difference, but it didn’t fix the issue.
    Site Editor:

I used the Site Editor (as prompted by the theme’s block editor support) and ensured that pagination is enabled for my Query Loop block.
I’ve experimented with different pagination layouts, arrows, and justification settings, but the issue persists.
    CSS:

I also tried adding custom CSS to ensure the pagination buttons are displayed correctly and to make sure there’s no conflict causing them not to work.
    Cache:

I’ve cleared my browser cache and tested the blog page in an incognito window to rule out any local cache issues.
Despite these efforts, the problem remains. The direct URL for paginated pages works, but the buttons do not trigger the correct behavior.

Could you please investigate this issue for me? It seems like a deeper problem related to how the Nook theme or pagination is being handled on WordPress.com.

Since I am on a free plan, I don’t have access to plugin installations or deeper customizations, so I’m relying on the default theme settings and tools provided by WordPress.com.

    Thank you for your help!
