issue with quotes and angular brackets inside [code language="csharp"]
-
Hi,
I am posting C# code in my blog and several times my ” and < > symbols are suddenly converted back into escape sequences such as " and >. I am changing them back to ” and < >, they stay correct for some time but eventually become corrupted again.
See for example https://victorscode.wordpress.com/2015/03/29/sqlbase-11-and-c-admin-utility/
Please help. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. I’ve tagged this thread for staff to follow up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting.
Just in case it’s perhaps a factor, please let us know whether you’re using the new Beep Beep Boop editor or the classic WP-Admin editor, and whether you’re adding your code in the text/html or visual view of the editor.

Thank you for your reply. I am using BBBoop editor. I am trying to use Visual View. At some point I thought that switching to HTML view breaks my code snippets. So after correcting my snippets last time I was purposely using only visual view. Yet at some point my quotes and brackets broke again. Lats change I deed was inserting a link from the visual view toolbar, maybe that broke code snippets, but I can not confirm that it happen right after that edit. :-(

Thanks for the extra info. While you’re waiting for staff to answer, perhaps check whether you have the same problem if you use the classic editor. You can find it by going to the WP-Admin dashboard and clicking on Posts ->Add New/All Posts

I corrected my snippets using classic editor. All snippets has been posted correctly so far.
Thanks!P.S. By the way, I like much bigger edit window in classic editor.

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble! This issue with the source code shortcode has been reported to our team, but we don’t have a solution for it in the new editor at this stage. As galois and kokkieh have mentioned, you can continue to use the classic editor to work with source code in the meantime. :)
-
No problem! I am glad there is a workaround. Good luck fixing this bug.
Thanks for your help. -
Hi there,
Thanks for your patience with this! Our team just launched a fix so that code you put inside the source code shortcode won’t be escaped as HTML entities anymore, in either editor. If you have any further trouble with it, please let me know.
