issue with some ugly string that is killing my SEO
-
Hello,
We are running this site: http://www.smcconsulting.be
I have installed the GTRANSLATE.IO plugin with NL/EN/FR. When going from English to FR (or NL) and then going back to English I guet this annoying string ‘?q=fr%2Fapproche-de-la-science-des-données%2F’ added to my URL.
Example:
EN URL: https://www.smcconsulting.be/news/
FR URL: https://www.smcconsulting.be/fr/news/
Back to EN: https://www.smcconsulting.be/news/?q=fr%2Fnews%2FAs a result, I get Zillions on internal links and Google shoots our page ranking down in the SEO…
I have contacted GTRANSLATE.IO and they have confirmed that it is not their plugin that does this.
I have disabled all plugins and kept GTRANSLATE.IO active and still had the same issue.
On google i found this link: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ugly-internal-links-q/ but it is related to AMP plugin and we are not running one…
Can someone please help?
Thanks,

Hi Emmanuel,
I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/You can look for help at the community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.
