Issue with Title and Punctuations at the end of the paragraph in Hebrew
-
Hi, I set up a blog is for Hebrew speaking indnviduals and noticed two issues: the title can’t be right-aligned, and at the end of each paragraph, the period is going to the beginning of the line. Is there a simple (non-computing) way to overcome this issue? I saw somebody gave a code option, but I am not as proficient in this, so it is difficult for me to do it. I also did not see any helpful suggestions on YouTube.

Hi @bflorenthal,
Looking at your site settings, its language is set to English. Have you considered switching that to Hebrew by going to Settings → General? This should make your entire website right-to-left (RTL).

I tried switching the entire site to Hebrew and it massed up other things for me. I also prefer to have the site from left-to-right anyway. I just want to be able to write post in Hebrew and I like the way I set up everything, but I have the two issues that are bothering me. Is there a simple solution to this issue? I like using WordPress and I don’t want to look for a different platform.

Got it, so you need the site to be LTR mostly, but some blocks will need to be RTL, right?
Can you link us to an affected post or page? I can’t promise a fix, but we can at least get the request filed. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for trying to help. I have a scheduled post for tomorrow on my site. It is the first post so it is easy to identify. The title is left-aligned which is not the preferred option for me and if you notice I did not put period at the end of each paragraph as the period goes to the left-side of that row. Let me know if you need me to send you the link or that post and thanks again for your help.

OK.
Right now we don’t really have great tools for sites that use RTL but have LTR language preference set. But if we knew what issues you were running into when you make it RTL, we might have a fix for that.
Are you normally going to have everything in RTL on this site, or will you be using a mix of that and LTR typically?

Hi there,
Out of curiosity, is there a reason your site is not set to Hebrew here? https://wordpress.com/settings/general/abrahaminhebrew.wordpress.com
I see it’s currently set to English and this means that by default most features that do not have an alignment setting in the block editor (such as titles) will default to a left alignment/
Setting your blog language preference to Hebrew will allow the title of the post will be aligned to the right as expected.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi, I tried to convert the entire site to Hebrew and it messed things up for me. I also prefer to have the site in English it works better on all my devices.
I saw somebody post a solution but it is a coding one and I don’t know how to implement it. Here is the link: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/multi-lingual-blog-posts/
Will you be able to help me implement it for my posts?
Your help is much appreciated,
Bela -
The link you provided is providing CSS code – in order to use CSS on your site here at WordPress.com, you would upgrade to at least a Premium subscription, which gives you access to the CSS editor where you could add that code to your site.
You can view the different plan options here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Thanks for the information. I appreciate your help.
I will probably upgrade at some point my blog. I’ve just started and I want to see if your platform works for me first before committing to a subscription.
I will work around this for now.
Enjoy your afternoon,
Bela

But before you go, see if my suggestions in this post help > https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/rtl-not-working-for-theme-independent-publisher-2/

Thanks :-)
I will check this out and try to implement it. I like the idea to keep using the site as LTR and adding content which is RTL. I like to add to my posts references in English so I do need a solution for a mixed content.
Enjoy your afternoon,
