Issues affecting jetpack
-
We have received this message and I’m unsure on how to correct the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Hi there,
Thanks for contacting WooCommerce app support!
According to our test result, Jetpack wasn’t able to communicate with your site through the XML-RPC file of your site:
https://inthechainsshop.com/xmlrpc.php
I’d suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to check their security logs for any blocked requests to the /wordpress/xmlrpc.php file on your site, using the Jetpack by WordPress.com user-agent.
If they only offer XML-RPC access by whitelisting IP addresses, then they will need to whitelist the IP addresses listed here:
Please note that these IP addresses could change (or more could be added) at any time. For that reason, we recommend your host uses the machine-readable versions of these IP ranges in JSON or plain text format to automate configuration changes on their systems.
Once this is done, please reconnect Jetpack with these steps:
Then, log out from the app and log in again with your WordPress.com account through the ‘Continue with WordPress.com’ login option.
Let us know how it goes.

We’re being blocked from accessing https://inthechainsshop.com/xmlrpc.php which Jetpack requires to function.
Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.
Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.
If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress site.
