Issues customising my site

So I am using Radcliffe 2 theme and have just switched from free wordpress to hosted. I had everything designed how I wanted it on the free version of my blog. There was a section for colours and background, yet on my now hosted blog this section is completely missing from the customizer.
Also my blog page I want to have a title showing and a banner above the blog posts. Each time I design the page, add in my heading and banner…but as soon as I select that page as the posts page my heading dissapears.
All I want to be able to do is have a heading on my posts page, and change the colour of the navigation menu. No matter what CSS code I put in the custom css section nothing will work. The only thing I can change in the customizer is the background colour.
How can I change my navigation menu colours…I even went into code insptector and copied info from there to no avail! It’s been about four hours wasted on this task which should be very simple!
Can someone please give me the code I need to change the menu colours, and to make my blog post page have a heading and banner. At the moment my menu text is black and my background a dark purple you can’t read it.
Here is my website…I don’t know why it’s not working but could be because I only got it hosted today.
