Issues setting up profile image
-
I have been trying to set up a Gravatar image in order to help me get verified on a certain website, but it would never work for me for some reason. This site also has not given me proper instructions about how to actually post my profile image.

Know that there is only a single gravatar image and a single email address for every username account, and that a wordpress.com account and a gravatar account are one in the same thing. Gravatar support docs are at http://en.gravatar.com/support/
Gravatar/blavatar (favicon) images do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change.
Dashboard → Settings → General
*Replace “http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG” below with the actual name of your blog in the URL
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
Do not keep uploading!
Do not forget to select an image rating.See: http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/blavatars/

To enable Gravatar display and hovercard display on your blog go to > Settings > Discussion and scroll way done the page to “Avatars”.

Is there a number that I can call to make it easier for me to explain how to solve the issue that I am having?
-
There is no phone support. When we need Staff help with issues Volunteers cannot resolve like this one we type modlook into the sidebar tags on our forum threads. I did that for you. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then we subscribe to this thread so we are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hey there,
There is no phone support, but I’d be happy to help. Is there a particular place where you’ve gotten stuck when going through the instructions @Timethief provided?
Let me know, thanks!
-
Yes, I have had some difficulty actually. I saw a couple of videos that were sent to me via email about how to make up my own gravatar and the way to make it the size that I need to in order to help me become a verified member of a certain website. The only problem was that the videos didn’t show me exactly how to upload it to the website with the size that it is supposed to look when posted on the site itself.

Hey there,
What verified service are you trying to have your gravatar work with?
For more on verified services, please visit our support page:
http://en.gravatar.com/support/profile-verified-services/
Thanks,
-
It is the type of verified service that is for a website that has adult content on it. It said that the profile image has to be 200 x 200 pixels.
-
Everytime that I would try to insert the photo at its correct size, it would keep telling me that the photo was not the correct size.
-
Ah, gotcha
This gravatar page provides information on requesting image sizes, how to size your image, and combining both the size and rating parameters since the site has adult content:
http://en.gravatar.com/site/implement/images/
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

You know what, I looked through that page that you suggested to me and I understood about all that it spoke about, but I felt like it didn’t really help me out either.
-
Hey there,
So based off of the Gravatar you are needing, you tried this URL and it didn’t work?:
http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/691bb4fda5255ec0fcae37b92e92786e?s=200&r=r
That is what I came up with. Let me know, thanks!
-
It would be this URL if the content rating should be X:
http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/691bb4fda5255ec0fcae37b92e92786e?s=200&r=x
-
Well, the thing is that I tried to make my profile image look as professional as possible by making it one that would be rated G, even though the site that I am trying to put it out for has a good amount of adult content on it.
-
Ah, so I believe the below should work since we’re rating the content in the Gravatar and not the actual site:
http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/691bb4fda5255ec0fcae37b92e92786e?s=200&r=g
However, if the website on the card leads to adult content, I would advise using a more adult rating.

You know what, unfortunately your suggestion didn’t work. I don’t know if it was something that I did wrong and I just don’t know about it, or maybe it’s just that there is a way to do it that I just don’t know about. I have also been looking throughout the website to see what could work for me, but I haven’t been able to find a solution for this and on top of that, it has made me take longer than necessary just to find what the right solution is for this type of issue.
