Issues Uploading .mp3 to WordPress

  Been trying to upload .mp3 to my WordPress account for the past 3 hours and I keep getting this error message:

  My Song.mp3
  Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.

  I have tried all sorts of workarounds and nothing is working. I am not a developer suggestions to add code would need step by step instructions.

  Any suggestions? I haven’t ever had an issue before uploading .mp3 files.

  What is the URL (https://…) of your site/blog?
  https://thepulsepodcast.wordpress.com/ is empty: no pages, no posts, no comments…
