Issues viewing my blog since switching from wordpress.com to .com
-
I am unable to view my blog since I’ve switched from a wordpress.com to .com. I can add posts like normal but cannot preview them.
I also have issues viewing other blogs using the .com but am able to view wordpress.com blogs.
The problem seems to be somewhere in the r-login sequence.
I’ve tried clearing my cache and and made sure 3rd party cookies were enabled.
I use Mozilla and tried logging in using Internet Explorer and had the same issue. As long as I’m not logged in to WordPress, I can view the blog.
Can you help me?
Kathy

1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1196-internet-explorer-compatibility-view-turn-off.html
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. Try using another browser.
5. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://www.whatbrowser.org/
(c) And what any error reports you receive state. -
I performed all the tasks you listed above that were relevant, and all my scripts are enabled and current.
I’m currently using a Asus laptop which I purchased 2 months ago. My browser is up-to-date using Firefox 23.
I’ve tried using Internet Explorer and still have the same issues.
I am not receiving any error messages. It’s like the system is getting “hung up”. It will say, “connected to r-log in.wordpress.com” and then it will say, “waiting for r-log in .wordpress.com” and continue repeating through that process. If I leave it alone for hours, it will eventually display the page but if I were to close the page, it would repeat the process over again.

I can view the site without any trouble at all using Firefox 23. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Which version did you try?
Did you disable compatibility view? -
I can view the site with no trouble also as long as I’m not “logged in” to my account. It’s when I’m logged in that I have the issues. I’m sorry for not making myself clear.

Thanks for the clarity on that. Staff work their way through support tickets and forum threads tagged for their attention by dealing with those that have the earliest date and timestamps first. Please be patient while waiting for Staff to assist the bloggers who posted before you did.

Hi there,
This issue can sometimes pop up if you’re using security or firewall software on your computer. You may need to add *.wordpress.com to the whitelist or safe list in that software.
Please let me know if that works for you!
