Any “happiness” engineers around to make me happy on this issue that I am still having and yet had zero response too. Have I posted this to the wrong area? if so can someone advise where I need to post to.

Hi @steevjp!
You haven’t posted to the wrong area at all. Sorry for the delay here!
I believe that extra line is being added by your email client. Most clients will quote the previous email beneath your reply (often hidden). Can you make sure your email reply is completely blank (besides your comment) before replying?

OK thanks, ill reply in my client to this post as a test, there is nothing else showing bar the text that I am writing and 3 x … in the bottom left of the text window (I am using gmail). Hopefully the reply is just these words, but I am sure this is how it looks. Should it go wrong I've a screen shot which ill paste below or in a new response

Do you see this icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the reply?
If you click that icon, it will show any “trimmed”/hidden text.

Hi,
On the bottom left-hand (pardon, messed this up previously) corner of your reply here, you’ll see those three dots:
Can you click those to expand the additional text? You’ll want to delete all of that text before replying.

When I delete all that text it says
Howdy!
We ran into a problem with your recent comment reply by email. Specifically, we weren’t able to find your comment in the email.
We’ll do our best to get this fixed up. In the meantime, you may want to comment directly on the post:
