Issues with account and emails

    I am trying to change my email address, from my work one, to my personal one. But it says that my personal one is being used.

    I am not sure if this has to do with any linked services, as I know that Gravatar does use it (but they’re all linked together).

    I don’t have a site linked to this WordPress.com account

    Hi there!

    Gravatar uses WordPress.com user accounts for account management, so you you would not be able to change your email address for quin452 to that same email you use for Gravatar as we only allow one WordPress.com user account to use a specific email address.

    However, I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your quin452 account – was there a reason you needed to update the email for this account? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

    Hi

    Basically I just simply want to remove/merge all my accounts, so I only have 1.

    I don’t use WordPress.com for anything, but for the self-hosted projects (my own and my clients’ sites) I’ve needed a WordPress account.

    Good morning –

    No worries. What I suggest is changing the email on your gravatar account, and then closing that account. I’d use a throw away email address unless you need to regain access at some point. This frees up the email address to be used on the WordPress.com account where your projects live.

    Does this plan help you consolidate things? Let us know if more help is needed.
