issues with adding links to media
-
Hi – when I am trying to add links to media, (using the toolbar) the image is being replaced by the text link. If i try and manually edit the html code, the image doesnt show, just the one you get when the browser cant see the image. I have cleared my cache.
This was working just fine yesterday…

I’m also having this problem. “Glad” to find out I’m not the only one. Hopefully someone has a solution?
My blog: https://margali.wordpress.com/ Today’s post has this problem. -
My specific problem happens when I try to have a photo open in another window when clicked. I click the link option in the toolbar and then check the box “open link in a new window/tab.” After clicking “Update,” the photo disappears, replaced by its URL.
I’ve had this problem since about midnight last night.

I just cleared my cache, thank you for the suggestion britishbookworm but it didn’t help me either.
-
Yeah, I didnt think it was a cache issue, but it was worth a shot. Also, I noticed that my editing screen was about half the size when i first went to open a new post and it was only when i hit preview that it filled the editing screen.
Clearly there is a wider problem I think…

Yes I had the same problem with the editing screen when I wanted to try again to correct the picture-problem (one can always hope ;) )
However that problem doen’t occur now: I’ve opened a new post, and also the old post, and both fields are sort of normal size again…. -

Still pictures not opening in new window, but instead I get to see the text link. Is there someone at WordPress who can help?

I’m having the same problem. I’m adding this from a thread I began before I found this one:
I always have been able to attach a link to an image.
Today, that is not possible. Instead of attaching to the image, the URL appears below the image.
In some cases, the image disappears, and only the link remains.
I do not use the WordPress gallery, but insert images from my own ftp server.
This isn’t acceptable. Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround? I don’t want my blog cluttered with links where they should not appear, and I certainly want to be able to insert images. Thanks.
