Issues with an embed code from the Police.
-
Hi all,
Sorry if this is a stupid question – I’m new to these forums.
Basically, my blog is for news for my CSPS (The Combative Self-Protection System) and I also post local news to do with crime, how to avoid it, issues to be careful of etc in the local community.
Staffordshire Police have approached me and asked if I’d like to help them publicise one of their latest schemes, called Visible Justice, where you can see what they’re doing about crime basically.
Now, they’ve emailed me an embed code, and I’m not sure if it is or isn’t allowed, and if it’s not what alternatives I can look for. Please forgive my ignorance of code languages, but I believe it’s HTML and it starts with ‘<iframe src= blahdy blahdy blah with some parameters for frame border, dimensions and transparency, etc. It seems to be a reminder-setting thing (http://www.coveritlive.com/index2.php/option=com_altcaster/task=viewaltcast/altcast_code=d50528022b/height=550/width=460) so people can be reminded of when it comes out next Monday.
Basically, 1) if the code is allowed, how should I go about posting it? and 2) if it’s not, would just posting the above link work ok, do you think?
Thanks in advance,

I’m sorry but we cannot use iframe codes. These are the codes that we cannot use on WordPress.com free hosted blogs for security and stability reasons > http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/

No worries, I assumed that would be the case. I understand. Do you think just posting the link and describing what it’s for would be adequate? I assume there’s no other workaround-ish way of embedding the thing in a way which would be acceptable?
Thanks for the fast reply,
Josh :) -
Here are the instructions for using CoverItLive with a WordPress.com blog:

Looks like it is indeed possible!
