Issues with Arclite theme in wordpress blog

  Hello,

  I have a selfhosted wordpress blog and im using the Arclite theme v2.02 . However, i have the following problems which i wish someone could help me with.

  1) In the widgets section i see three sidebars : Default Sidebar,Secondary Sidebar and Footer. I understand Default sidebar and Footer, what is the secondary sidebar for ?

  2) In my sidebar even when there are no widgets i have an archives section that looks like http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/8040/pic1l.jpg . Any way to remove that ?

  3) If i keep that archive section and add my own Archive widget , it then looks like http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/66/pic2sn.jpg . Also the widgets i add seem to have a white background by default, which im unable to figure out how to remove . Any way to fix that ?
