Issues With Jetpack
-
Hello All,
I haven’t used WordPress for a while and I’m trying to delete jetpack. For some reason that option is absolutely no where to be found. I do not have a paid membership which is required to use the app, but the plugin still works. WordPress does not provide an option for a free site on my end. I need to continue with a free site and I need Jetpack removed. Any suggestions?WP.com: Yes
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi There,
For using your site on WordPress.com, you must use Jetpack. You can’t remove Jetpack from there because WordPress.com is powered by Jetpack.
But if your website is self-hosted, you may or may not use Jetpack.
Hope this helped!

Thank You for your response. If Jetpack is powered by WordPress why does WordPress give you the option to add it as a plugin? I though I added Jetpack Years ago as an optional plugin. I’m seeing tutorials on how to remove Jetpack. EX: 1. go to plugins 2. choose jetpack 3. Jetpack settings. 4 Delete Jetpack…. I cant get pack step 2.
I have no options available under my Jetpack settings, other than to upgrade my WordPress to continue using. figures…

Jetpack is a plugin that brings WordPress.com’s built-in features to self-hosted WordPress.org sites.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
With that said, those built-in features are here under the Jetpack label. If you have a WordPress.com site, Jetpack is not a plugin, so you don’t have to worry about being charged for using it, and it cannot be removed.
