issues with mapping custom domain

I am trying to create a new wordpress site: [mydomain]/blog

I just purchases a mapped domain. It got linked to [mydomain].wordpress.com which i have subsequently deleted.

Now i have run into the problem of not being able to create a new site: [mydomain]/blog.
When i go into manage purchases, the boxes come up all grey and blank with no text. I am not able to click to manager or get refund.

When i go into domains, potterben.com.au is not showing up.
When i try to add a new mapped domain, i get the message [mydomain] is already mapped.

deleting the base blog (yoursite.wordpress.com) was a very bad move – you ALWAYS need the base blog for domain mapping to work and for you to manage your upgrades

you can’t have an address here like yoursite.com/blog (you can have a page with that URL but not the main blog

you should create a new blog (newblog.wordpress.com) so the staff can transfer the upgrades to it

I have flagged this for the staff to help

  • Hi @bunjamon,

I’ve removed the old domain mapping and credited your account so you can buy mapping again.

Also, [mydomain]/blog will not work. But you can use blog.[mydomain] instead. Let us know if you need help. Sometimes the existing domain lookup can’t find a subdomain; in that case if you’ll let us know what you intend it to be we can add it for you.
