Issues with Media Library WP-Admin and Default View
-
Anytime I try to access the Media Library from the WP-Admin dashboard, it redirects me to the default dashboard view, which doesn’t allow for any imports (I can only upload from the device, rather than being able to import through Google photos for instance).
I can still import through Google photos for individual images or galleries on the post or page, so it’s not a problem with the connection. How can I get the WP-Admin version of the media library back? It worked fine yesterday.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Typically, choosing between the default dashboard and classic WP-Admin is a matter of personal preference since they’re almost identical.
If it’s affecting your experience, here’s how to make the latter one your main view:
- Log into WordPress.com.
- Click on one of your sites from the Sites list.
- Click on the “My Home” button.
- Next, navigate to Settings → General.
- Scroll down to the “Admin Interface Style” section.
- Choose Classic style: The classic WP-Admin WordPress interface.
- Click the “Save Changes” button.
After making a selection, your admin interface style will update automatically in a few seconds. The “My Home” button from step 3 will change to “WP-Admin” going forward.
Hope that helps!
P.S. You can always go back by following the same steps.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I have seen and reviewed those directions already from the support documents prior to reaching out here on the forums. However, I do not have an “Admin Interface Style” section under Settings –> General.
Up until a day or so ago, I could enter the URL wordpress.com/media/www.BLOGNAME.com and it would open the Classic style. Now, that redirects to the BLOGNAME.com/wp-admin/upload.php
