Issues with Portfolio theme

  Hello, I’ve been trying to fix a few problems but nothing seems to work. We purchased the Portfolio theme for our WordPress.com site, animalliterarymagazine. The Theme http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/portfolio/ displays a central image and then three columns of images with text beneath. I want this. However, I cannot seem to get anything but one column and no image to show at the top of the page. I’ve cleared my cache and cookies already. Under Format, I’ve clicked Image, and I’ve set featured images. Can you help me get Portfolio to look like it does in the sample template?
