Issues with theme and with editing home page content

    Hello,

    I am trying to make changes to my site’s home page content but I am not able to do anything from the theme options tab under the customizer in the wp admin, or by clicking edit page under the pages tab.

    Every time i click on theme options it leads to a critical error. I am trying to determine whether this is because the theme (Schema Child) is no longer supported by wp and must be changed to a new theme, or if this theme can be saved by adding plug ins to make the theme run correctly again.

    The issue I then run into after this determination is: If I change the theme of the site, it removes much of the content nested to the home screen that we have.

    When I try to make a change to the home page content by going to the home page under the pages tab and clicking ‘Edit page’ – the next screen does not show me any of my home page content and only shows a blank white screen. It does not matter whether I flip back an forth from visual to text mode, either way the home page is blank when I go to edit it. If I go directly to my site however, all of the content is there and visible, just not when I go to edit it from the wp admin site.

    All I want to do for now is remove the content for two of the doctors listed under ‘meet our team’ on the home page, the theme customizations is more of a secondary issue. I would highly appreciate it if someone can let me know what my options are and if you can offer any assistance or point me in the right direction. Thank you!

    Hey there Haris, could you confirm what site you need help with? The site you’ve listed uses a different theme.

    Also, these forums are for the sites hosted and managed here at WordPress.com, vs. sites using WordPress code with another host. If you’re not sure about your site, send a link, and we can point you in the right direction.

    Hello Supernovia,

    Thank you for responding so quick!

    The site is eaglefalls.com It is hosted through A2 but it is built by wordpress. However, after speaking with a few different A2 reps about the issue they said it was likely not due to an issue on their end.

    Also seems like there are a couple different issues with the site; one is the fatal error received when clicking on theme options, the other issue is the blank screen when clicking on “edit page” or “edit” on the home screen under the pages tab

    Hello there,

    As eaglefalls.com is not hosted with WordPress.com, we can’t help with this site here at WordPress.com.

    A2 use self-hosted WordPress, which is different to WordPress.com. More can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    It sounds like there could be a plugin conflict happening, so you may wish to look to deactivate plugins until you discover which one is the culprit.
