IT Admin fired – need access
-
Hello Support Team,
My name is Andy Watkins and I own the domain lakelandwinery.com and am the owner of the Lakeland Winery business. Philip Ryan Johnson was my previous IT Admin who setup the WordPress for my website. He was fired in July of last year, 2018, and has not given me the full admin rights to WordPress for lakelandwinery.com for over a year. He is currently involved in a lawsuit due to refusing to give me admin rights to many services that I am paying for for my own business, including WordPress.
Is there a way to give me full rights to WordPress and also see and modify the user list attached to WordPress in conjunction with my site? I am happy to provide verification that I own this business or assist in any way in expediting this process.
Best,
Andy WatkinsThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your lakelandwinery.com appears to be hosted at Dreamhost and is not using the version of WordPress hosted here st WordPress.com nor do we have access to anything on that site.
However Dreamhost should be able to help you regain access. They will be able to let you know what information they need to give you access to your site.

Thank you houstonweaver. We have full access to the domain, but our website’s graphical settings + ability to post and edit pages is linked to WordPress. I literally log in to WordPress in order to make posts on my site.
Best,

This account you are using to post into the WordPress.com support forum was only created an hour ago so I doubt this account is how you’ve been reaching your site.
There are two different WordPresses. The modified version used by sites hosted at here at WordPress.com and the free software available for use on all other sites hosted anywhere else. For help with your site you need to register an account at:

Ah usually if you are hosted somewhere like Dreamhost your version of WordPress is also hosted on their servers. And yes you would log into WordPress to edit your site. Have you asked dreamweaver about your access?
See this for a description of the differences between WordPress.org software and the hosting on WordPress.com.
Another wrinkle to the puzzle is the possibility you are using jetpack for your WordPress login, but I would expect that Dreamhost would still be the key to normalizing your WordPress login.
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackI’m noting this for modlook so that one of the WordPress staff will look at your situation and give you a definitive answer.

@themagicrobot Sorry, got interrupted mid typing and didn’t realize you too had submitted a further response.

That is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
With that said, they have some options for you at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/
