It DISAPPEARED! The whole thing! HELP!

    OMFG What just happened? I completely lost my home blog page, it doesn’t show and it’s not on my menu – All of my posts are gone – just like that! All the history of what I’ve written! Somebody FIX IT!!!! P L E A S E ! !

    I noticed in a feedback response that you mentioned making a reply and not receiving a response.

    I’m not seeing any reply from you here. So please, could you give it another try? More info would really help me out.

    Oh – I replied to the email I got, I didn’t go through the rigamarole to get to this reply page.

    Yes, what you are seeing is what I am seeing too. There used to be another page, which I had named simply “About”, I think. It was the home page for all of my blog postings, so everything I’ve written on the blog has disappeared too. This is a fundraising website and since it’s not working, I can’t raise the funds. My “About” page has disappeared also from the dashboard, from “all pages” and from the menu.

    I did not do a thing to it. I had posted on it last time a couple of weeks ago, and had that post confirmed that it was seen by word of mouth, and then I had not been to the site again until the time I noticed that the page was gone.

    Can we ever get it back? This makes me pretty nervous about wordpress, if main pages can just poof like this.

    Do you want your blog posts to be on the front page or the “About a home” page to be the front page?

    Right now, I set it to be the “about a home” and have your posts under the “blog” menu item. But I can help you change that if you were trying to do something different.

    Just let me know.

    And yes, you need to return here to post if you are requesting WordPress.com support via the forums. Sorry for any confusion on that end.

    I want my old page back that had my old posts on it. Is that not possible?

    I’m going to need some more information than that I’m afraid. I’m doing my best, but since I didn’t know exactly what your site looked like previously, all I can do is try to figure out what you had up there previously based on the information you give me.

    All the posts that exist on http://granddaddyalligator.wordpress.com/ can be seen here: http://granddaddyalligator.wordpress.com/blog/

    That page can be your front page if you would like so that people see your blog posts when they go to http://granddaddyalligator.wordpress.com. But currently the “about a home” page is your front page.

    Wow! Where did you find them? I swear I could NOT find that page that you have named “Blog” AT ALL. Phew, phew phew.

    What happened is that I went to “About a Home” as the front page and could not see any other pages of the menu bar. In fact, I don’t think I had set “About a Home” as the front page. I also really could not find any other pages in the dashboard.

    Weird. Well, it’s better now. If it never happens again I’ll chalk it up to some strange blindness on my part, unless you have an explanation.
