It says that my blog has malware imbedded into it. What do I do to fix it?
-
It says that my page has malware inbedded into it. I didn’t do that and I don’t know how to fix it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
-
You probably did, if you hotlink images from elsewhere. Usually these warnings are more specific and say “malware from RussianMalwareSpamSite.com”: or something. Without that information we can’t really help except to say don’t hotlink at all, ever. Not even in widgets.
-
Yeah, it said Illiminatiwatcher.com but I didn’t even GO to that site. I don’t have any pictures from them on my blog. It said that, and then it is asking me to insert code into my blog to let “google” fix the malware problem, but I am not going to do that, because I don’t want anyone with that access to my blog.
-
Well, what program was giving you that warning?
Here’s how you find out if there’s malware on your blog.
You go to Google and in the search box you put everything on the line I am going to paste here.
illuminatiwatcher.com site:thelasthiker.wordpress.com/
If that brings up even a single result, go to the post and check ALL links and images.
-
Okay, WOW. I found one link that was connected to illuminati watcher. Thank you so much. I deleted it. Is that enough? Or do I need to buy that big huge 59 dollar malware inspecting software from wordpress?
Do I just ask google to recheck it?
Thank you sooooo much for your help!!!!
-
WordPress does not sell malware inspecting software.
Just ping google again and that should updage it.
-
So is this site not legit?
http://securepress.org/malwareremoval.php
:(
Thank you for your help
And, sorry I am so dumb. But what does ping google mean?
-
And someone said that malware can try and steal my passwords to different websites. Will running my anti-virus software make sure that my computer is safe?
-
The short answer is No, running anti-virus software will do NOTHING WHATSOEVER to make your passwords safe. Make long passwords that contain capital and lower case letters AND numbers too, and change them regularly. Do not store them in your email account, either.
And Securepress.org is something I never heard of in my life. You do not need it.
Don’t worry about pinging Google. It will figure it out probably the next time you post.

I was just told that I have malware on my blog, by a friend. I went to: illuminatiwatcher.com site:yogakulaproject.wordpress.com/ and nothing came up. How do I see if I really do have malware in my blog?
-
Try the Omni Search function
Dashboard >> Home >> OmniSearch >> put in the search strings or URL’s of the virus site(s) – OmniSearch will search your entire blog for a string
-
I don’t see any single thing wrong on your blog. You aren’t hotlinking and you hardly even link to external sites.
