  i am trying to make a simple free site, but it wont let me. everything is at a minimum 5$

  I’m not sure what materials you’re looking at.

  You can certainly have a free site on WordPress.com – at zero charge.

  Here’s some information to help you get started:

  Go to My Sites – Domains – Add – to set up a free site on the account.

  Hi, it is when I imput a suggestion for the site name, all of the options available are paid plans?

  Hi clare892,

  Site addresses containing “.wordpress.com” are free. Custom domains (example.com) are only available through paid plans, so you will be asked to upgrade if choosing an address without “.wordpress.com”.

  Thank you, so if I type a name in and then WordPress.com that will be then unpaid?

  That’s correct. You should see the option to select a free address underneath the search box :)
