Italics not showing in preview or live; indicated by bold and pink text instead

  The italics on the blogsite that I’m building show in the editor, but do not show in the preview or live version. They simply come up as bold pink text instead. Need help to resolve. Thanks.

  Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog you are referring to as the one linked to your username is empty.

  Never mind, I found it. The color I have below matches the normal text in the theme and I changed the font weight to normal and style to italic.

  em {
      color: #696969;
      font-style: italic;
      font-weight: normal;
  }
