Italics (using ) showing up as bold and pink

  Theme: Fjords04 http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/fjords/

  The editor uses the tag, but when published, it appears as bold and pink. I have tried using <i> instead and it appears correctly, but eventually the editor will replace them with again.

  There is another thread at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/italics-not-showing-in-preview-or-live-indicated-by-bold-and-pink-text-instead?replies=7 with a CSS solution but this occurred recently and I haven’t touched CSS.
