iTheme2 is flipping out. Slider isn’t closing, and entire post on display on homepage. post are not listed in any order and in fact, the first post is an old, outdated piece, that is embarrassing to have it listed this way. I checked the settings >>> Reader and they are set for latest post >>> summary…what gives?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy!
This looks like two separate issues.
iTheme2 will always display the full post content on the home page. The Full text/Summary option under Settings -> Reading only applies to your blog’s RSS feeds, not your home page. You can read more about this setting here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/#general-settingsIn the case of iTheme2, you can have up to 30 posts in the slider, and those posts will be removed from the standard list of posts on your home page to avoid duplicated content. So you may want to reduce the number of Sticky posts you have, to reduce the number of slider posts and bring your more recent content back to the home page post list.
You can read more about how to configure iTheme2 here:

My challenges with iTheme2 have been resolved, I am so happy to announce. I am still learning the new technologies, which was a contributing factor . But, perhaps a step or two of added instruction to the description or live demo will help alleviate the transition to this really dynamic and beautiful new theme. And listing the posts in the column in reverse chronological order is somewhat confusing and not ideal.
Thank you for replying, sixhours and for sharing your expertise. Another demonstration of the outstanding customer service and vision of WordPress. And to participants in this topic, adding your challenges to this forum, was a big factor in helping me to figure this puzzle out. You are appreciated.
Have a beautiful day.

Because iTheme2 lists the entire post on the home page, then when those posts are read, they are unable to be counted as views. That is a unfortunate flaw and renders this quite beautiful theme, futile.

It’s possible to truncate your blog entries so that only the first part of the posts appear on the front page. Readers would then click on a “Continue Reading” link to view the rest of the posts. You can do this by using the “more” tag in the post editor. Please see this page for instructions on using the “more” tag: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

michiecat – Your replying is very much appreciated. One of the many wonderful qualities of WordPress is the experienced team that puts customer service first. In regards to iTheme2, I resolved the issue after figuring the puzzle out. if a post is made sticky without a featured imaged, it moves that post to the top of the column, since it cannot place it in the carousel. That was learning on my part. But the other issue could not be overcome so I am no longer using the theme. The fact that the entire post in the column cannot be truncated, means that the stats counter has no way of recognizing when it is being read. I find the stats not just necessary, but fun.

Hi @thepublicblogger! It looks like you’ve since switched themes, but you can manually truncate your posts, forcing users to click through to the full content, using the “More” tag Michelle noted above:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/I hope this helps! I’m going to mark this thread as resolved, but please don’t hesitate to create a new topic should you have further questions. Cheers!

I could have sworn I read before that iTheme2 was meant to have the full text, but no matter, Triton Lite was working before I bolted, and for whatever reason, it seems to be working even better now. Forgive my initial communication, along with any appearance of rude or poor behavior. A ticking clock, unfinished work, a collabration crumbling, and in the mist of all that, I decide to move 38 posts to an unfamiliar location. The moral, iTheme2 was a little crazy, but a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. My sincere apologies and much respect for what you do. Glad to know you are there. I am sure I will be messaging with you soon. {smile} – KP
