itheme2 sticky post not sticking

    I am using itheme2 and I want my original post to stick at the top of the front page. I have checked the box ‘stick to front page’ but as soon as I added a second post the first one slipped down to appear in chronological order. Is this something specific to this theme? (it does have a featured post slider at the top) or something I am doing wrong? Thank you in anticipation.
