Do I need to do some kind of redirect from something to something?
Do I need to map from something to something?
    Thank you, sue

    Hi Sue,

I tried the Intergalactic theme but when I post pictures they are narrower than the text box, no matter how big they are. Can I make them fill the text box? Can I make them edge to edge of the blog?

You can see exactly how the theme (including images) are meant to look in the Intergalactic theme by checking out the Intergalactic theme demo. You can see an example of how an image looks in a standard post here:

    http://intergalacticdemo.wordpress.com/2014/09/25/space-travel/

As you can see there, the post’s Featured Image is the full width of the page, but other images in the post won’t be full width — they’ll be the same width as the rest of the post content.

It didn’t seem to have a right side bar. Or could I add one?

The Intergalactic theme has a right sidebar that you can see if you click the “hamburger” menu (three horizontal lines) in the top right of the page. That will make the sidebar appear with any widgets you add to it.

If they put pacifica kpfk without the 2014 can they find me in a search engine?
    How about pacificakpfk?

Search engines are pretty good about indexing related keywords (like “pacifica kpfk” and “pacificakpfk”), especially if you use those words on your site itself. As Shawna mentioned, it may just take some time before those search engines pick up your site and display it in their results.

Thank you. Any guess as to the theme that has the widest pix?
“While looking at your site, I also noticed your domain, pacificakpfk.org currently does not have its name servers pointed to your WordPress site. Do you need help completing that part of the domain mapping?” Do I have my connections set up right now? Thank you

    Hi Sue,

Any guess as to the theme that has the widest pix?

I don’t know that offhand, but you can browse all of our themes in the theme showcase. I’d recommend looking specifically at photography themes to find ones that show off your images the best:

    http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/subjects/photography/

If you click the theme’s name in the theme showcase there, you can read all of the theme’s details. At the bottom of each theme’s page, there’s a “Quick Specs” section with more information about how wide the theme is — you’ll want to look for themes with a wide main column to have all the images appear wide in your posts.

For example, in the Harmonic theme the main column is 830 pixels wide (compared to 660 pixels in the Intergalactic theme you were using). You might also want to take a look at the Kelly theme or the Full Frame theme.

Do I have my connections set up right now?

Yep! Your domain pacificakpfk2014.com is set up correctly and working on your site: http://pacificakpfk2014.com/

can i set it such that all comments automatically appear? and all replies?
    thanx, sue pacificakpfk2014.com

    Hi Sue,

All of your comments automatically appear at the bottom of the post on the post’s individual page, like this one: http://pacificakpfk2014.com/2014/10/15/hope/

Do you mean you’d like your comments to automatically appear on the front page of the site? The Matala theme isn’t designed with that option, so there isn’t a way to do that. (The P2 theme shows comments on the front page, but most other themes don’t.)

Instead, there’s a link at the bottom of each post to the comment section for the post. If the post doesn’t have any comments, you’ll see a “Leave a Comment” link like this: https://cloudup.com/cBF7j7V-w31

If a post already has comments on it, the “Leave a Comment” link will change to something like “1 Comment” so you can click through to read the comment.

Please let me know if you have questions about that!

I want all comments, not just by me, to auto appear below the post they are commenting on, without me or them having to click on ‘1 comment’. Can I do that on ‘Able’ theme? maybe? or some other theme or setting? Thanks, Sue

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi Sue,

The P2 theme is the only theme I know of that will display comments on your site’s front page, e.g. at http://pacificakpfk2014.com/ . For most other themes, visitors will have to view the individual post such as http://pacificakpfk2014.com/2014/10/15/hope/ to see the comments appear below the post.

You can also check to see how each theme displays comments by visiting its demo site. You’ll see on the Able demo site that if a post has comments, a link will appear underneath the post (next to the post’s categories and tags).
