itunes only shows previous 50 episodes

People are unable to get all of my episodes on itunes. Which means the feed I’m sending to feedburner is only including the 50 most recent episodes, I think.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there!

It appears as if you’re only sending 50 items to your syndication feed. Please click the link below:

Can you adjust that number from 50, and save the changes, and let me know how that works out for you?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Thanks for your quick response! I have gone to the settings and tried changing it and saving and it won’t work. Every time I save it the settings always revert to 50. I just tried again and same results. Any suggestions?

    Hey there,

I’ve gone to our podcasting gurus on staff, and have some news: it turns out that the 50 episode issue is not actually an error. The maximum number that your WordPress.com syndication feed can be is 50. There isn’t a way to adjust this on WordPress.com. The oldest podcast episode will always be bumped from iTunes when you launch a new podcast episode.

If it’s important to you to have all your podcasts display, you may choose to switch to a self-hosted WordPress.org site, rather than hosting your site here at WordPress.com. If you’re not yet familiar with WordPress.org, here is some helpful information:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

If you have questions about transitioning to self-hosting, please let me know and I can assist!

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

Thanks for your help. I am ready to switch over to wordpress.org and believe I’ll be relocating to bluehost. I’m wondering how seamless the transition will be. Is it as simple as telling wordpress.com my new domain and all the files are transferred? Or will I need to do a considerable amount of work to set up the new domain before transferring the files. Just wondering so I can set aside the appropriate amount of time for the transfer.

    Hi again!

The switch sounds like it’ll give you the ability to grow your podcast without limitations. Cool!

This guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance:

As we only support sites hosted here at WordPress.com, all issues with the new site – including the importing of the file – must be taken to the WordPress.org support community:

If you’d like assistance moving your WordPress.com site to WordPress.org, we have a service called Guided Transfer that does all the work for you. Check it out to see if it’s right for you:

I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!
