How do I get iTunes recent purchases Widget on sidebar?
-
I want to put an iTunes widget on my blog, but I am not the most computer saavy person in the world, so please excuse the stupidity.
here are the steps I am taking and the results:
1. Follow these steps on Apple website:
Select a size and style.
Review the resulting preview.
When satisfied, click the Copy Code button.
Edit personal site or profile and paste code where you’d like the widget to appear.
2. Select “Copy code” button
3. go to my Dashboard, Presentation, Widgets and paste this code into a widget text box titled “Recent Purchases”:<embed class=”widget” name=”my_itunes” pluginspage=”http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer” src=”http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/flash/myitunes/myitunes.swf?feed=WebObjects%2FMZStoreServices.woa%2Fws%2FRSS%2Fmyrecentpurchases%2Fartworkheight%3D53%2Fhtml%3Dfalse%2Fsf%3D143441%2Fuserid%3D53336712%2Fxml%3Fv0%3D7720&feedType=recent&cssPath=http://ax.phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net/flash/myitunes/styles/default.css&local=143441″ width=”150″ height=”330″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” menu=”false” quality=”high” wmode=”transparent” allowScriptAccess=”always” salign=”lt” scale=”noscale”></embed>
4. Close widget box, save changes
5. view website, nothing there but widget title “recent purchases”, nothing under it.
6. Back to widget editor page and there is nothing in the text editor box, despite the fact that I copied and pasted.thanks in advance.

You can’t. WordPress.com blogs will strip out flash and javascript. Here’s more on this: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/can-i-add-flash-video-embed-other-media/

If you really want to share, you can always do a text widget and put the names of your favorite songs in there. Then people can find them in itunes or whatever platform they want.
