I've added a new page but I can't see it…
-
I have added a new page and I cannot view it. It exists, I can see it in the dashboard but not on the site as a page where it’s supposed to be. How can I make this page visable?

What is its status on the dashboard Pages page? Draft, private, published, scheduled? Are you using a custom menu (and if so, have you edited it to add the page? Are you using teh pages widget?
-
The status is published and it is public. I am not using a custom menu nor a page widget. I can view the page but only when I access it through my dashboard configuration.

You are using a custom menu (the default top menu cannot link to category pages like your “Poetry” page). So you need to go to Appearance > Menus and update your custom menu. You can also check the option “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu” so that this won’t happen again.

Aha! It worked! THANK YOU!!
Now how can I fix my poetry page so that it’s an actual page and not just a “category”? -
You’re welcome.
You create the page in Pages > Add New, then you go to Appearance > Menus, delete the current “Poetry” item, add the new one (if you didn’t check the option “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu”), drag the new one to reposition it, save.
