Dear WordPress,
Can you help me with my site?
I was hacked last fall and now again in February. I wrote to my web person, Patrice Hruska, whom I have worked with for 10 years. Shockingly, her husband told me that she had been taken that day to hospice and was dying of cancer! I had no idea, she never said a word about it. She passed the next day. I did not want to bother him for several weeks and just last week received the login info.

I tried to log in yesterday and my screen was entirely red with a big WARNING message asking if I really wanted to try to get in. I did not try.
I would really appreciate some guidance – it has been down for more than 6 weeks.

These forums are for sites hosted by WordPressdotcom, the hosted version. For help with your above self-hosted install of the WP software you need to either speak to your web hosting provider or head over to the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support/ If you don’t have a username there, you can register one on that page.

@xiandshannon, as Jen pointed out, that site isn’t here with us. But you might try getting in touch with Xmission to see if they can restore your site. Then you’ll want to use help from the WordPress.org site and forums for securing your site, or consider hiring a contractor to do it for you.
Alternatively, if you’d like to host with us so we can take care of security for you, we have import steps here. Just note you’d need to restore the site first, and it would need to be accessible long enough for you to create an export.
