Hey there!
You need to change your domain’s name servers to point your domain (oluseyi.ogunjobi.com) to your WordPress.com site. This needs to be done with your domain’s registrar.
Your name servers should be:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comMore instruction can be found here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/#instructions-for-mapping-an-existing-domainOnce that’s done, it can take up to 72-hours for your domain to begin working properly.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Thanks for the feedback! The actual problem I’m seeing on the Dashboard -> My Upgrades page states (in red) “DNS needs to be updated”. This is for domain oluseyi.ogunjobi.com, which the page states is already mapped to wordpress.com.
On clicking that red hyperlink I get a page with heading “Missing CNAME record” instructing me to add a CNAME record to the domain.
Back on My Upgrades page, I clicked on “Domain Settings” and observe 2 domains: oluseyi.ogunjobi.com as primary domain and status “active”; the other is seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com and status “never expires”.
All upgrade/renewal payments were made to wordpress only.
Will switching the primary back to seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com solve my problem and make the site visible again? Thanks for your support.

Hello again!
Thank you so much for your additional information!
Back on My Upgrades page, I clicked on “Domain Settings” and observe 2 domains: oluseyi.ogunjobi.com as primary domain and status “active”; the other is seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com and status “never expires”.
Yes, seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com is your free WordPress.com site, and oluseyi.ogunjobi.com is the subdomain you’ve mapped to your site.
A subdomain requires that you’ve set up a CNAME record with your domain registrar. From your domain’s public records, it appears as if ogunjobi.com is registered with GoDaddy. This mean, you need to set up a CNAME with them in order for your mapping to work correctly. Here is GoDaddy’s support page about creating this record:
https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/680/managing-dns-for-your-domain-names
Click Adding or Editing CNAME Records. Your CNAME needs to be your preferred subdomain (oluseyi) or your domain (ogunjobi.com).
Once that is setup, things should start working. We may need to check on your records here, just to make sure all is working well, so please let me know if you need assistance!
Will switching the primary back to seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com solve my problem and make the site visible again?
If you do this, your blog will be visible at http://seyiogunjobi.wordpress.com/ . It will not be visible at http://oluseyi.ogunjobi.com/ .
Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. GoDaddy can help with the addition of your CNAME, too.
Thanks much!

After carrying out extensive investigations, I located my domain registrar at Wild West Domains (not GoDaddy). The actual domain registered was oluseyi-ogunjobi.com (not oluseyi.ogunjobi.com). The difference being a hyphen (-) instead of a period.
A WHOIS query confirms this:
Registrar: WILD WEST DOMAINS, LLC
Whois Server: whois.wildwestdomains.com
Creation Date: 17-APR-2014
Updated Date: 18-MAR-2015
Expiration Date: 17-APR-2015
Nameserver: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
Nameserver: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
I now believe that a typographic error was made when mapping this domain to the WordPress site. The OGUNJOBI.COM domain belongs to a different owner in the USA and was not registered or renewed in mid-to-late March as my billing records show.
Please can I have this slight error adjusted so that I can now switch the primary domain back to oluseyi-ogunjobi.com and bring that site up?
Thanks for your support. -

Superb! Switched Primary Domains and can now see the site up on URL oluseyi-ogunjobi.com…
Many many thanks for this; I now consider this issue as resolved.
Once again, many thanks for your prompt support.

I’ve just arrived from a week-long trip and noticed that my site has gone down again – apparently it has been down since the 17th of this month.
DNS status shows that it is the same problem as before – settings have changed or need to be changed. Previously there was a slight typo in that it was pointing at oluseyi.ogunjobi.com instead of oluseyi-ogunjobi.com (a period instead of a hyphen).
Can you please investigate and resolve please?
Thanks for your support. -
So, here is what happened:
March 18th during a live chat, you requested that domain registration for oluseyi-ogunjobi.com be canceled and refunded. Which it was.
You then set up domain mapping for oluseyi.ogunjobi.com and then asked to have that domain mapping changed to oluseyi-ogunjobi.com. Which it was.
Despite being canceled, the registration for oluseyi-ogunjobi.com continued to work while the domain was in the registrar’s cancelation grace period. But once that ended (because you had requested that the domain registration be canceled and refunded), the domain mapping for oluseyi-ogunjobi.com stopped working because oluseyi-ogunjobi.com was no longer registered anywhere.

Dear Rootjosh,
Thank you for clarifying what has happened!!
Please can you now map my domain setting to the right one which is the new one that I paid for; that is, Oluseyi.ogunjobi.com.
I'm sorry for the inconviences this may have caused; the mistake occurred because the original domain was cancelled by my previous administrator (webmaster)!Your assistance would be highly appreciated.
My regards,
Oluseyi

Site still does not display…
On My Domains page oluseyi.ogunjobi.com is showing subscription as active and renewing in February next year, but on My Upgrades page, the domain is checked for DNS and comes up with red text “DNS needs to be updated”
The last time this issue was flagged it was said to be a “CNAME” configuration issue, that needed to be pointed to your WordPress name servers. Can you please look into it? Thanks in advance.

Any update, pretty please? Site is still down and I have had to switch active domain to the WordPress address. A solution would be greatly appreciated.

Have you followed these instructions to map a subdomain? You need to do some specific actions at your domain registrar:
-
I now fully understand what has happened. The domain currently mapped was never registered (oluseyi.ogunjobi.com). A friend trying to help after my webmaster’s withdrawal actually misunderstood my intentions, which was simply to re-register the cancelled domain (oluseyi-ogunjobi.com) and update my payment account details.
Please re-register my old domain oluseyi-ogunjobi.com for me, and point it to my WordPress domain; as you are aware, it was cancelled without notifying me by my webmaster, due to a misunderstanding.
Apologies for the confusion; it always arises when someone tries to
fix what ain’t broken
:-)

oluseyi-ogunjobi.com is not available to be registered currently due to the fact that you canceled it. Domain expiration/cancellation is a fairly long process:
If you would like, we can try to reverse the cancellation. But you will be responsible for the $80 redemption fee.

Dear Rootjosh,
Thank you for your response.
Since you have explained that Oluseyi-Ogunjobi.com is no longer available for registration because of the complications associated with the cancellation, I would rather prefer to register another name.
The new unique name I would love you to register for me is:
seyi-ogunjobi.comI have checked the name on Whois data base and it's available for use. Please register the domain and map it to my WordPress domain.
Thank you for your help and support!
Regards,
Oluseyi
