I've downloaded a plugin – now, how do I activate it?

  I’ve downloaded a plugin, and I don’t understand step one on the directions:

  I need to know how to activate the plugin so I can use it. Thank you!

  Plugins are actually only a feature available for self-hosted blogs provided through WordPress.org. We have more information on this in our support docs.
