I've got a few technical issues
-
Layout
Hi, I’ve had a horse riding accident (brain damage injury among others), and I was a wedding/portrait photographer, now I’m starting afresh, and I’ve created a blog to track my progress.
I can not get my site looking as neat and tidy as the example site when I changed these, I’ve now got Oxygen and have loaded a logo, but I can’t input the nice looking menu or move my gallery to a page of its own (for example).
The blog itself and posts I’m fine with.
But I’d really like some guidance on how to make it look neater. But I would like a menu, create a home page (although I don’t know how to), a contacts page perhaps? and the blog posts be a page of there own.
It is only for me, not a professional blog, but I it would mean so much to me to have it looking spit spot.
Any tips/help you are able to give me would be sooooooo appreciated.
Thank you

I have now created 4 pages, but how do I make my “home” screen the dormant/default one, and how do I have all blog posts diverted to the new page blog, please? I’ve created 4 pages, and the contact and gallery pages are working fine thank u, Clair

Hi Clair!
As far as creating a home page that resembles the Oxygen theme demo, you’ll need to follow the instructions here (specifically those under “Showcase Page Template”):
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/
Here’s another support page that will help to explain setting a static front page and putting your blog posts on another page:
Can you give those two a look?
In regards to adding a menu, that can be accomplished through the instructions here:
Please let me know if you’re running into any additional trouble!
