I've tried to enable comment unsuccessfully

    Hello. Please I need immediate assistance with my blog. It has been embarrassing having some readers contact me that they were unable to comment on my last blog post.
    I have gone to discussions under settings but it’s impossible to click “turn on commenting and pingbackd”. It just isn’t clicking. Please I’ll like prompt assistance. Thank you.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

    It looks like you’re using the Rebalance theme.

    You can review a few settings to hopefully enable the comments again.

    1) Look at the bottom of your posts missing the comment box and make sure “Allow comments” is checked

    2) Go to Settings > Discussion, and review these settings:
    – Make sure the box next to “Allow people to post comments on new articles” is checked.
    – Make sure the box next to “Automatically close comments on articles older than _ days” is not checked

    Hi there,

    The options under My Site ->Settings ->Discussion only control whether or not comments are enabled on new posts by default. I can change that setting without problem on your site, though. If nothing happens when you click the toggle for that setting, please see if clearing your browser cache makes any difference.

    To enable comments on your most recent post that is already published, you need to edit the post itself. Go to My Site ->Blog Posts and edit the post. In the post settings sidebar on the right, click More Options. There is a checkbox to enable comments for the post there.

    Thanks for your assistance but after trying all the recommendations, it’s still not working. I wish I could give you a screenshot of my phone so you can see it.
    it’s just not possible for me to enable the comments. It’s sort of permanently locked.

    I’ve cleared my browsing cache. In fact I use the WordPress application.
    I didn’t set comments to close after any number of posts.
    as regards the post that went up without any space for comment, I’ve tried what you subverted but i’m still unable to activate it.
    what else can I do?

    Hi there,

    Can you please log in to https://wordpress.com/ from your phone’s browser and see if you can turn on the comments?

    Also, can you please let us know what phone are you using (iPhone or Android) and what version of the OS you’re running?

    I’m using and android phone. Samsung galaxy note 4. Android version 5.1.1

    But thanks a lot. I logged in through my browser and I’ve been able to resolve the issue.thank you.
